Not since Jackie Kennedy has a woman in the White House garnered as many headlines for her clothing choices. Hope Hicks, consider yourself in very good company.
Whether you follow politics or not, it’s hard to ignore the name Hope Hicks, She may be only 29 years old, but the former model and public relations consultant serves as one of the most important political aides to President Trump. In fact, she’s the longest serving advisor in the current administration, having famously replaced Anthony Scaramucci as the White House Communications Director in 2017.
She started her career as a model for Ralph Lauren and later moved onto public relations which is when she met Ivanka Trump, the daughter of the future president. The two became fast friends, with Hicks helping to expand Ivanka’s fashion line and also modeling for the brand’s website. This business arrangement would eventually lead to a job in Pennsylvania Avenue as Donald Trump’s campaign Press Secretary. Cut to 2018 and Hicks is one of the most talked about political staffers of this era… albeit the one who actually says the least.
Hope Hicks is notoriously camera-shy, preferring to conduct her business as communications officer through memoranda and email correspondence – a far cry from the pomp and ceremony we’ve come to expect from those who came before her in the same role.
As outspoken and opinionated as her famous commander-in-chief may be, Hope Hicks is the polar opposite. Where she does make a statement though is through her clothing choices. Who can forget the head-turning tuxedo suit she wore to a state dinner in Tokyo with the Japanese Prime Minister? Accompanied by President Trump and his wife Melania (wearing red Valentino, no less), all eyes were squarely focused on Hicks. She had made a statement all right, and the world was listening.
Due mainly to her age and fashion savvy, comparisons are often drawn comparing Hicks to another of Trump’s glamorous aides, his daughter Ivanka. Some have even gone as far as to suggest that Hicks may be a dead-ringer for Keri Russell in the hit TV show The Americans. The character she is said to emulate? A Russian spy living in the United States under the ruse of being an ordinary American citizen. Fact or fiction? You decide.
For now, we’ve compiled a selection of Hicks’ most talked-about looks:
At the recent World Economic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland, Hope Hicks was an elegant rose among the thorns. Spotted here prior to the President’s television taping with Piers Morgan, the glamorous brunette was clad in top-to-toe black. Her elegant monochrome ensemble was offset by a bright pop of color – rosy pink lips and dainty pearl earrings.
Dressed for Success
All work and no play… not for this White House beauty. The statuesque stunner wowed in a strapless red gown on the evening of President Trump’s inauguration. After just receiving her new title of White House Director of Strategic Communications, there was certainly a lot to celebrate and Hicks most definitely looked the part. With her hair kept simple and low-key, she opted for smoky eyes and dramatic red lips – a powerful style statement from an inimitable fashion force!
Hope Hicks – When Duty Calls
Another day, another stunning style moment. Even when surrounded by politicians in dark suits, Hope Hicks still manages to cut a stylish figure. Taking a trip on Air Force One with the President, her outfit of choice was
chic and sophisticated: an easy black A-line skirt and a body-skimming grey turtleneck sweater. Comfort and class – it doesn’t get any better!
