Heather Nauert is living proof that you anyone can surprise you.

Until recently, Americans had grown used to regularly seeing Nauert present the day’s news on channels like Fox. For the last eighteen months, however, she has been appearing on every major network as she actually helps to make the news.

Appointed initially as State Department Spokesperson in the Spring of 2018, for the last four months she has also been acting Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs. Underestimate her at your peril!

Originally from Illinois, Nauert’s impressive career began in 1996 as a reporter for a syndicated television business program. She moved to Fox News in 1998, where she stayed until leaving for ABC where she worked from 2005-07 (and received an Emmy nomination for her work on special series called 13 Around the World). Up until the Trump Administration came calling, she had been hosting Good Day New York Wake Up on the Fox owned and operated New York channel, WNYW.

In early 2017 her lifelong interest in politics took a different turn. Now working from the State Department headquarters in the Foggy Bottom neighbourhood of DC, she now can be seen making official statements for Secretary of State Mike Pompeo (and before his appointment, for his predecessor Rex Tillerson).

Follow Nauert on social media and you’ll find a woman deeply in touch with the oppressed, particularly those who are marginalized by society. She does her fair bit to speak out on topics affecting religious freedom not only in the US, but across the world too. Nauert was instrumental in implementing the first ever Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom, a summit welcoming leaders from over 80 countries to discuss ways to promote religious tolerance.

As Nauert continues her impressive career as a diplomat, we turn our attentions to a more well-known forte: fashion. These are just a few of Nauert’s top style moments so far in her career.

On the job

As a reporter for Fox News, Nauert would often cover news on the ground. She is seen here in the build up to the 2016 general election, interviewing voters in Pasadena, California. Her clothing choice for the occasion was relaxed yet polished – sleek white trousers paired with a bright fuchsia blouse and nude heels.

Mellow yellow

Being a news anchor means long hours on the job. Heather Nauert learned to take it all in her stride, however, leading the daily news program with style and grace. This outfit in particular shows off her style acuity – a fitted shift dress in striking canary yellow. Just breathtaking!

Heather Nauert: in the company of greatness

What are the perks of being a news anchor? Getting to meet legends of the music industry like Dolly Parton is certainly one. While the country superstar is all dolled up in a mixture of tweed and denim, Nauert stayed true to her monochrome roots. Her outfit is made up of a sleek V-necked shift dress in beautiful powder blue.

The power of pink

With bright, beaming smiles on their faces, you’d never guess that Heather Nauert and her colleague Heather Childers were actually hosting a 5am breakfast show. Yet they make it all look effortlessly easy. Childers opted for a sleek and demure three-quarter sleeved charcoal dress but for Nauert, a tailored dress of bright fuchsia pink was the ultimate style choice.

Beautifully bundled up

Any day gets infinitely better when shared with close friends. Here, Nauert took time out to reconnect with a colleague from Fox News, and, despite the cold weather, the pair was cheerful and happy. Nauert chose to keep warm in classic blue jeans paired with a trendy black duffel coat. Fashionable friends, if ever we’ve seen it!
